Roy Wood$ - Get You Good
Roy Wood$ – Drama (feat. Drake)

Many people were impressed with Toronto crooner Roy Wood$ after his track “Get You Good” was played on the infamous OVO Sound Radio show from a few days ago. Rumors have been circulating that he will be OVO’s next signee, and with this newest release, that notion is very possible.

Earlier today, Wood$ dropped off two new tracks on his Soundcloud–the CDQ version of “Get You Good” and a new cut titled “Drama” featuring none other than Drake. Over a spacious instrumental, both Roy and Drake sing about a girl with a “little bit of drama with her friends”, suggesting that you “take that L”, among other topics. It’s very plausible that this could be forshadowing Wood$’ impending signing to OVO.

Take a listen to “Drama” below, and expect Roy Wood$’ debut Exis EP to be released on the 31st of this month.

Michael Jackson's Signature White Gloves Are Being Auctioned

Michael Jackson’s white gloves are at a low bidding start

Michael Jackson's Signature White Gloves Are Being Auctioned

Michael Jackon’s white gloves are a signature item from Michael Jackson’s apparel. As he prepares them for every performance of “Billy Jean,” the crowd goes crazy for those gloves. As they glow along with the matching socks, Michael controlled the stage. Billboard has reported that the July 30th auction will have the gloves bidding for $20,000 to start out. Nate D. Sanders will be running the bid. The bid may be coming out the gate slowly, but that can all change. When it’s all said and done, the gloves could grasp a few million. Michael’s success and appeal to the masses should surely set everything off.

Before passing away in 2009, Michael passed the gloves along to a friend by the name of Paul Bedard. Bedard has since then painted a ton of paintings for the Neverland ranch.

Kendrick Lamar

As black people continue to protest all across the country because of recent events of injustice and hardships, an almost unbelievable story has spawned from one protest in Cleveland.

After a fourteen-year-old was released from police custody, a large group began to parade the streets repeatedly chanting “We gon’ be alright”, an obvious nod to Kendrick Lamar‘s single from his critically acclaimed album To Pimp A Butterfly. In a very coincidential turn of events, as the group continued to chant, an actual butterfly began flying overhead. The butterfly is noticeable to the point where the concept of TPAB is almost impossible not to immediately think of. What a coincidence, huh?

Take a look at some footage from the incredible occurrence below.

Today’s the day that we’re receiving all of those dope songs off of Drake‘s OVO Sound Radio, and Roy Wood$‘s “Get You Good” is one of them. On this one, Wood$ undoubtedly channels Michael Jackson, however, not as much as he did previously on “All Of You.” The Toronto native is an up and coming that Drake f***s with forsure, as Roy even received a feature on the 6 God’s track “Drama.” Anyhow, this is said to be a track off of Wood$’s upcoming EP Exis, so prepare yourself for that and stream his new single below.

Safaree Samuels - Lifeline (Meek Mill Diss)

Safaree Samuels - Lifeline (Meek Mill Diss)
Safaree Samuels received a jab from Meek Mill last week when Nicki Minaj had her new boy call out her old one (Safaree), for twerking back in the day. Samuels then responded to this on twitter stating that it was from a Jamaican dance competition back when he was 17 years old. Though just defending himself wasn’t enough for Safaree, he wanted the offensive side, so here today we received a new Meek Mill diss track titled “Lifeline.” Safaree didn’t go light on Meek by any means, as he took shots at almost every aspect he possesses including his health, his voice, his relationship with Nicki, and even his appearance. Listen below and let us know what you guys think.

Kickin Flavor has Tyke’s signature catchy hooks and comedic word play with an undercurrent of urgency not found in earlier efforts. Tyke is ready to take his career to the next level, and this is evident in the lyrics and feel of this offering.
The maturation of Tyke’s flow is obvious on this record; as his staccato delivery emphasizes his prowess as a lyricist and songwriter. The beat provides just enough interest to inspire movement, while being a perfect complement to the lyrics. Audiences who enjoyed Tyke’s flow on previous efforts will still find the essence of what they have come to know and love and it will definitely intrigue new listeners who might have initially “Overlooked” his first efforts.

Matt McGhee continues his string of releases with a pair of singles in A-side, B-side form. “Beamer Music” features Fool’s Gold Records’ GrandeMarshall, and rides some smooth, sample-based production from 30 Below. “Lexus Music” continues the trend of silky smooth, sample-based production, with Jaylen! providing the instrumental on this one. McGhee delivers a nice verse, with Cal Rips and Jamie Jermaine adding in some complementary vocals to round it out.

Typ-iLL and longtime collaborator/producer, 5ickness, put on for their hometown of Long Island, N.Y. with a summery, uplifting new joint, “Without Love.” From the crackling needle drop to the fading vocal loop, the track is both an ode to Strong Island and a message to anyone doubting Typ’s passion and love for his art.

Throughout the first two verses, Typ paints a vivid lyrical picture of his stomping ground, over the hypnotizing beat, and it feels like you’re cruising the streets right beside him. That means hitting Willie’s Barber Shop for a new cut, and sippin’ rum until you’re carried out of the lobby of the nearby Marriott. Typ then flips from nostalgic to confident, for his closing verse that boasts tongue-twisting rhymes and middle-fingers to his detractors. When he caps it all off with “Grindin’ so f*ckin’ hard, it’s my turn to blow,” it’s hard to imagine anyone disagreeing with that statement.

“Without Love” is the final leak before we hear the lead single from Typ-iLL’s much anticipated debut album, Veterans Day, which is produced entirely by none other than Statik Selektah.

Birdman

“I love my son.”

Despite all of the petty drink throwing, legal battles, and suspected murder-for-hire plots, it appears that Birdman still has a soft spot for Birdman Jr.

In a preview of an upcoming interview with Power 105.1‘s Angie Martinez, the Cash Money leader spoke on his recent fued with Lil Wayne. After boarding a luxury yacht, he clears thing up by saying if Wayne does leave the label, Nicki Minaj and Drake would most definitely remain. He also went on to say that he was in a state of disbelief when he heard the negative things Wayne had to say about him, saying:

I love my son. He mean the world to me. For that man to say something negative about me, that affected my life.”

The two have had a very public battle since Wayne aired out his grievances on Twitter this past winter. Most of it has circled around the release of his Tha Carter V album, which has still yet to see the light of day and, at this point, may never get that chance. The fued came to a head recently when Birdman and Young Thug were named in an indictment of Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, who is currently being held for shooting up Wayne’s tour bus when it was in Atlanta.

It’s interesting to see that, despite all of this, Birdman says he still cares for Wayne, even referring to him as “my son”. The full interview will air Tuesday at 4 pm on Power 105.1, and we’ll sure it will be packed with some great content. Watch the trailer  above and check back with BLUNTIQ for more information on the upcoming interview.

With the recent revelation that Odd Future defnitely aren’t as close as they were back in their earlier days, it seems like BLUNTIQ favorite Mike G has also caught a sudden case of nostalgia. Yesterday, the OF member shared an unreleased, never-before-heard track from 2009 on his personal Soundcloud, and it is liable to bring back some memories for OG Odd Future fans.

The track, titled “Fuk It“, features none other than Earl Sweatshirt (although this was more than likely when he went by the alias Sly Tendencies) and is produced by in-house producer Left Brain. Mike and Earl trade some impressive bars in a back-and-forth style over an head-bobbing instrumental, reminiscent of the two’s previous collabs like “Cool” and “Stick Up“. It serves as a rather comforting reminder of simpler times. Take a listen to “Fuk It” below.
