Being at War With Self and Searching for Strength
The never ending narrative of self-exploration finds no rest, for even in avoidance, there’s no acceptance of a white flag; it’s an inevitable call to action toward one’s self, rather than against.
The gift of sharing art appreciated by others. The curse of sharing art cherished by people, they begin craving ownership of another’s creations — holding onto specific time periods. This isn’t a sitcom and reboots are not necessary, if you choose today over yesterday — an evolution over hindrance.
One thing we all have in common: there’s a need for equilibrium. We love what we’re doing, we want to see what we’re doing blossom, but at times, we can become derailed with the process of letting the creativity turn from caterpillar to butterfly — we sometimes yearn to skip the cocoon and fly through the breeze with ease.
For Kendrick Lamar, finding that perfect balance of introvert and extrovert, in an extroverted system, is key. Although it wasn’t highlighted as strongly on previous body of works, I can hear Kendrick finding more balance of both traits on his album, DAMN.
