TwonDon Reflects on new 7-track Project, ‘Sorry 2 Bother U’
TwonDon has been on our radar for a little over three years now; growth finds its footing when we press play on his music. With growth, there’s buried-or-alive pain that harvests the growing season.
On Sorry 2 Bother U, Twon reflects on past relationships, personal issues, family and more. It’s most vulnerable effort and his vivid storytelling over stellar production sets the tone through all seven tracks.
“In The City” is delivered through a calm, soothing sample of Janet Jackson’s “That’s The Way Love Goes,” but is backed by Twon’s reflection of depression, loyalty, and pain.
You then find “Health Issues,” where Twon convinces a loved one that alcohol is “bad for your health, chasing a vice that won’t help.”
Although Twon expresses his frustrations with venting through instrumentals, the pain has to be released, somehow. His coping mechanism of placing in-depth, vulnerable diction is a creative way to get to needed non-fiction.
