Maryland native pushes to 10th spot of the XXL Freshmen List.

IDK, Prince Georges County, Maryland native, is officially the 10th-spot holder for the XXL Freshmen List.

XXL Freshmen List has always caused issues. Subjective, music is, so there will never be a list that everyone will be satisfied with. Also, XXL has such an expansive readership. 10 Kendrick Lamar’s wouldn’t be satisfactory and neither would 10 Lil Uzi Vert’s. Somewhere, people seem to be most satisfied when they find some sort of balance. Perhaps adding IDK in the mix helps this balance.

IDK has had an incredible 2017—arguably running strong since 2015-1016—all depending on how you look at it.

In 2016, IDK became the first rapper to have his music premiered on Forbes’ website. Empty Bank was another cohesive project that IDK (known as Jay IDK at the time) added to his resume. Fast forward, going on tour with A$AP Ferg and Denzel Curry in 2018.

Just the other morning, at 5 a.m., IDK tweeted that he had just purchased his first house but still knew he had work to do. So what was he doing? Writing. He knows that there’s more work to be done and in order to keep everything he’s worked hard, strategically for, the foot on the gas pedal cannot let off.
