Seven long years later – the wait is finally over.
After the long-standing legal battle with Birdman and Cash Money, the wait for the fifth installment of Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter series may finally be over. When news broke about the legal troubles finally coming to end fans were overjoyed to hear that Tha Carter V would finally be released later this year. Well now the time has come and we reportedly have an official release date for the album.
The Young Money Twitter account shared the cover art for the album this afternoon with the caption “Put them 5s up.”

The album is speculated to drop Sept. 21. Before today’s announcement, Floyd Mayweather apparently posted a photo of a “V” captioned with the goat emoji and hashtag “21.”
