“Mesmerized,” “Always on Time,” “Down 4 U” — Ashanti and Ja Rule have hits on the boards.
During an interview with ET, Ashanti confirmed that Rule and herself are indeed working on a collaborative album.
“Listen, me and Rule, it’s so funny because we’ve been talking about that for so long, but I think now he’s like, ‘OK, now it’s time to do it,'” she told ET’s Nischelle Turner at the BET Awards on Sunday. “So we’re going to carve out the time and make it happen.”
This comes just days after Ja Rule’s quote tweet for Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s joint album Everything Is Love.

It’s true, Ja Rule and Ashanti owned the early 2000s. Under The Inc, the two could not be stopped. their reign was nearly two decades ago—a joint album could either uplift their legacy or possibly do harm for how we remember their run.
