This is America, won’t catch Gambino slippin tho

With the internet at the center of control, we take what we see tweeted and apply it as fact, right away.

In the case of Donald Glover, Childish Gambino’sThis Is America,” the claims that the track was stolen from Jase Harley’s “American Pharroah” hit the internet and had plenty of people turning their back on Glover. However, Fam Rothstein (music supervisor for the show Atlanta and management for the ROYALTY label) took to Twitter denounce the claims that Gambino’s track was created from plagiarism.

“the Internet is a place of no consequences. I hate that Toronto Akademiks/every white blogger can say something as gospel and y’all take it. this song is 3 yrs old, and we have pro tools files to prove it. but fuck you and your moms, and your future fetuses. stay blessed. https://t.co/z7AyyWgrOz

Rothstein’s statement would make Gambino’s track from 2015 and Jase’s Track is from 2016.

Just last night, Gambino’s “This Is America” nearly sound-tracked the energy of the 2018 BET Awards. The song has racked up over 299 million plays on Youtube and growing. Yes, the two tracks (between Jason and Gambino) do strike similar blends, but for now, Fam Rothstein has put this issue to rest.

Stay tuned.
