A lot of Logic’s core priorities for his music involve giving his fans what they want. It’s evident he’s never really cared about anything other than that. Last night Logic kept his streaky ways afloat by releasing the second installment to his ‘Bobby Tarantino’ series. The mixtape, as the first track that is a skit featuring Rick & Morty going in-depth about the difference between “mixtape and album Logic,” features cuts from Wiz Khalifa, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, and the producer/DJ Marshmello assisted “Everyday.” Bobby also gives us “44 More,” a play on “44 Bars” that was released in the first part of the series. The Maryland-born rapper is coming off a phenomenal 2017 with his social aware song “1-800-273-8255.” The song was huge for his fan base as it helped people be more aware of mental health and suicide prevention.
What the first track is saying is Logic has two personas behind the mic. “Mixtape” Logic is braggadocious, coming at you with bass-heavy hits. It’s his recordings of practice for his “Album” mode Logic if you will. If you remember ‘The Incredible True Story,’ he puts together skits and various stories with meanings on his albums. I believe everybody has these two personas when listening to music as well. It’s all about the mood you want to set for yourself. Sometimes you just want to sit back and let the music do the talking, other times you want to talk along with the music. Logic definitely knows how to keep his streak alive with every release he gives to his fans. You can stream ‘Bobby Tarantino II’ below.
