Following the rapid rise of YBN Nahmir, YBN Almighty Jay is the next artist you need to watch. His own breakout success with viral videos like “Chopsticks”, “No Hook” (with YBN Nahmir), and the newly released “Off Instagram” prove that the YBN movement goes well beyond YBN Nahmir and the YBN crew is undoubtedly the hottest new movement in hip hop. Showcasing a variety of young rappers from the south, they appear poised to be the region’s counterpoint to the A$AP Mob or the second coming of Young Money.

Often favoring minimal bass-heavy production and bars on top of bars, the YBN crew have carved out a unique space for themselves, one that is perhaps best described by Hot New Hip Hop who writes “In an era where the young rappers are consistently getting shitted on for the type of music they make, Nahmir and Almighty Jay come through swinging with clear vocals and punchline.”

Hailing from Houston, Texas and representing the next generation in the city’s rich history of Hip Hop, YBN Almighty Jay has burst onto the scene with a series of videos which have gone viral in the past few days. “Chopsticks” has already been described as “a street anthem” by XXL while topping 4 million views on YouTube. Almighty Jay followed it up with “No Hook”, a YBN Nahmir collab that has earned 2 million views on YouTube in under a week. Most recently, “Off Instagram” has racked up over 200k views on Youtube in less than 48 hours.

Check out all three below and watch out for the YBN take over.
