Double or Nothing
Metro Boomin’s 2017 alone has been one for the ages. Working with artists from Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Migos, etc, Metro is the pulse of the culture. Having just put out a collaborative album with 21 Savage and Offset, Metro is ready to dish out another album.
During an interview with Billboard, Metro Boomin and Big Sean confirmed that they have an album coming together, Double or Nothing.
“Maybe it has something to do with us being from the Midwest. We have that goal of wanting to succeed not just for ourselves, but for everybody who’s listening,” Sean said during the duo’s Billboard interview.
Sean’s release of ego is highly important in this equation and the creation of this project and process of life, in general.
“Sometimes ego gets you in trouble. You’ve got to be aware enough to have your teammates around,” Sean said.
Metro Boomin’s work takes us back into a time in Hip-Hop—where the albums were more cohesive driven by production.
“I was born in ’93,” Metro says, “and a lot of projects [from that era] had one producer, maybe two. They sounded more cohesive — better as a whole.”
“Pull Up N Wreck” was just a sample of what we’ll get from the duo, who rented out a spot in California, recording and bouncing around energy for their creative processes.
There is no release date for the album, but as we’ve seen from Metro, there’s no telling when it could drop. The album could drop the next week for all we know.
