From Buffalo, NY to Honolulu, Hawaii, Jacob Didas has had a life full of journey. His 10-track body of work titled Lucid, represents the path he has walked thus far.
“Music is one of the greatest forms of communication. I felt strongly enough about my message to produce and record this project independently from top to bottom,” Didas says. “I currently serve as a US Army Officer and psychiatric nurse. My intention was to make an album inspired by many of the topics that are important not only within the psychiatric setting, but in life as a whole.”
Utilizing music’s medicine, Didas’ music is an outlet that is away from everything but involves it all. There’s self-reflection, which also takes us through his highs and lows.
“Music has always been a strong outlet for me. I came to terms with many personal battles and this is my way of sharing a message of value,” he stated.
“Drumroll” is the opening track and you can already tell that you can’t put Didas’ music in a specific genre. It goes from alternative to rap in the matter of 30 seconds. Compared to Macklemore and Krazy Bone, you can hear the conscious efforts in his fast delivery, making the comparisons true, enough.
“Drumroll” tells me all I need to know as far as his direction and it proves his quotes to be exactly as he describes it. By taking his physc training and putting into the direction of music, Didas is able to reach a crowd of people that many can’t reach without stretching imagination.
Jack of all trades, you’ll hear Didas on the keyboard, handling the vocals and his own production.
