SHiNE season is upon us and Wale is ready to present his latest body of work, consisting of 12 tracks. Since the release of his 2015 album The Album About Nothing, a lot has changed for Wale. For instance, he is now a proud father and his daughter heavily appears to be the apple of his eye and the pride within his joy. As many artists do, they grow and develop with their music. Wale’s approach to his new body of work feels tremendously different than those body of work’s from the past. This time around, Wale seems to be having a lot more fun, while still delivering his essence and the bars we love to hear from him.

The album is slated for a Cinco De Mayo release and comes equipped with some notable features. G-Eazy, Lil Wayne, Wizkid, Dua Lipa, Major Lazer, J. Balvin, Travis Scott, Davido, Olamide, Chris Brown, Phil Ade and Zyla Moon join Wale on this quest. Sheesh, Wale is bringing the features but he’s also bringing his delivery strongly too.

“Colombia Heights” should be an interesting track, especially if you know anything about the D.C., Maryland and Virginia area. Without hearing that track, it reminds me of what GoldLink did for “Have You Seen That Girl.”

Before we know it, the album will have arrived. See you then, God willing.
