It’s a new face on the Dreamville roster and he goes by the name J.I.D. Filled with bars and wittiness, this Atlanta-born talent is about to shake a few things up, starting with his new album The Never Ending Story.

Calling into Beats 1 Radio, J.I.D. spoke with Zane Lowe about the new album, the signing and a bit more.

“It happened organically,” J.I.D. explained, while calling in from the windy Stone Mountain, G.A. “With everybody else finding out, you know, it was just good to see how they received it.”

If you’ve never heard of him prior to The Never Ending Story, you can start with Bears Like This Too Much album with Spillage Village and Dicaprio.

“I wanted it to sound like a cluster of great sounds and just a different place,” J.I.D. said. “Like no one really knows me other than the people I’ve been working with… It’s humble.”
