For those of us who have been patiently waiting for SZA’s new album, we are about to receive our blessings! In a new interview with Billboard, the TDE singer announced that her new album, CTRL, will be released on February 3rd. That’s just about a week away! Her latest single, “Drew Barrymore“, is already a certified hit, and we’re sure there will be lots more to come.

In the interview, she also talked about working with Rihanna (“She’s in her own space at all times. But she’s not rude — she’s comfortable. As a shy person, that was something cool to witness“) and Rick Rubin (“I played him a bunch of songs, and he would tell me, ‘The more you take away from any piece, the more room you create for everything else to be beautiful and grow“), and about the recording process behind the album.

CTRL will be her first release since 2014’s Z. After multiple pushbacks and delays, SZA has expressed her frustrations both with her label and the music industry as a whole, even saying that she’s soon to retire and leave it all together. Hopefully the release of her album will help in her opening up to continuing to work with TDE.

So mark your calendars and get ready for SZA Season, it’ll be hitting us hard on February 3rd. For now, listen to “Drew Barrymore” HERE and read the full Billboard interview HERE!
